The Château de Miral, whose keep was built at the end of the 13th century, overlooks the confluent where the Runes river meets the Tarn. Its defensive ramparts protected the upper Tarn valley.
From the 14th to the 16th century, the lords of Malbosc-Miral laid out their home and outbuildings around the keep.
